A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) allows you to make charitable contributions, recommend grants over time, and receive an immediate tax deduction. DAFs remain a flexible way to support your favorite organizations, including M-AAA, while potentially growing your fund tax-free to increase the impact of your gifts.

You can now recommend a grant directly to M-AAA using DAFpay through our Givebutter donation form. DAFpay connects securely to most major Donor-Advised Fund providers, making it easy to give from your fund online.

1. Check Your Eligibility: Many employers offer matching gift programs. Ask your Human Resources department if your donation to M-AAA qualifies and review any requirements or deadlines.

2. Make Your Gift: Use the donation form above or mail a check to M-AAA.

3. Submit a Match Request: Each company’s process may vary, but typically includes:

• Logging into your company’s matching gift portal.

• Providing details such as your donation date, amount, and payment method.
• Submitting the request for review! The company will review the request and determine whether to approve the matching donation. If needed, the company will reach out to M-AAA to confirm the donation.

Giving through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a meaningful way for donors age 70½ or older to support M-AAA using IRA assets. When a QCD is made directly from your IRA to a public charity like M-AAA, the gift is excluded from your taxable income. If you are age 73 or older, your QCD may also count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).

To make a QCD, contact the administrator of your traditional or Roth IRA. Many retirement plan administrators require specific distribution forms and have their own procedures, so be sure to follow your financial institution’s guidelines to ensure you receive any associated tax benefits.

You can help ensure a creative future for the Heartland by making a legacy gift to Mid-America Arts Alliance. A bequest—the most common form of planned giving—is a provision in your will or trust that designates a specific amount or percentage of your estate to
