Visiting the Tamarind Institute

Last week ExhibitsUSA staff had the pleasure of visiting the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, NM. We are currently working with colleagues at Tamarind to tour the exhibition, Variations in Print: 15 Tamarind Collaborations.

While we were able to see several of the lithographs featured in the exhibition, including Hung Liu’s Harvest, we were completely captivated by seeing the workshop and learning more about the process of lithography. What makes seeing the lithographs created at Tamarind so impressive is understanding the care and tradition of what goes into each print. Seeing this process first hand, from the artists working on their stone to the printing process, was an incredible opportunity.

If you are interested in learning more about the process of lithography or the exhibition Variations in Print: 15 Tamarind Collaborations please contact our staff at moreart@maaa.org
