New on the Road! 1968: A Folsom Redemption

The exhibition 1968: A Folsom Redemption will soon begin its tour with its first stop in Texas at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Center. The exhibition opens June 16 and begins its five-year tour going into 2024 with stops scheduled in Arkansas, California, Iowa, Florida, Kentucky, and Virginia, among others.

The exhibition chronicles the landmark event when Johnny Cash performed two concerts inside California’s Folsom Prison, and it features a collection of photographs by two journalists lucky enough to be among a handful of eyewitnesses. This candid and personal photography exhibition covers a critical juncture in the career of Johnny Cash, one of the twentieth century’s most beloved performers.
