Heading to Eugene for AAMG
We are heading in late June to this year’s conference for members of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries in Eugene, Oregon.
We are especially pleased to sponsor Keynote Speaker Wendy Red Star on Saturday, June 23. An artist raised on the Apsáalooke (Crow) reservation in Montana, Red Star is informed by both her cultural heritage and her engagement with many forms of creative expression, including photography, sculpture, video, fiber arts, and performance. She works across disciplines to explore the intersections of Native American ideologies and colonialist structures, both historically and in contemporary society. An avid researcher of archives and historical narratives, Red Star seeks to incorporate and recast her research, offering new and unexpected perspectives in work that is at once inquisitive, witty, and unsettling. She has exhibited her works at venues, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Portland Art Museum, and St. Louis Art Museum.
We look forward to connecting with you in Eugene!
Next stop: We are taking part in the annual Midwest Museums Conference in Des Moines in mid July.
